This restaurant is conveniently located on Calle el Conde and serves a variety of foods, in a casual atmosphere. Saxony - Café - Galeria (Vegetarian food)
This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch. sit inside or on the patio and enjoy the plate of the day or some Empanadas, Pastelones and some of their other health-conscious treats. Have your meal with a Natural Juices or some Yogurt.
The people here speak English, Spanish and a little Italian. Tell them you saw their restaurant information here!

S Bar
A great bar playing a large variety of music. Spanish rock, reggae, Arabic, and more. It is a sort of Hippy - alternative crowd with all other types of people mixed in. With El Rey Del Falafel attached to this bar you can always have a falafel while enjoying.

Rita's Café
This restaurant, serving typical Dominican and International foods, is located in the Altarazanas with a great view of the plaza. They serve a variety of different foods with a very reasonable price in it's relaxed atmosphere. You can get a good lunch with their special that is served from 12 noon to 2. Eat some Mexican, Seafood or have a sandwich of snack. The patio is very nice to hand out and relax. Opening at 9AM everyday you can come here for your morning meal or a cup of coffee also.

Proud Mary
Maria, the owner of this bar, has made it a great place to hang out and have a good time. It has a home like feeling where you feel welcome and comfortable. She plays a lot of classic rock and blues. All ages can be seen here mainly because of the music being played. This bar is the second oldest bar in Colonial Zone.

A nice little fast food Chinese Restaurant. They have daily specials in a small buffet serving Dominican food and their prices are very reasonable. The egg rolls are very good. They have an ala carte menu and also all can be taken out.

Thai Sushi Bar
In the row of restaurants on the Atarazana in front of Columbus Palace you can now dine on Sushi under the stars. They serve many types of sushi including a unique sushi made with platano maduro which is quite good. The cooks choice is Tenderloin Tagliata. It is a bit pricey but their food is served by a very attentive wait staff. They give you a welcome drink which is called Thai Fruit and is very refreshing. The bar also offerers different sakes to compliment their many different sushi dishes.

Whisky Lounge
"A new concept of entertainment" This is one of the new bar additions to the Zone. The drinks are reasonably priced (Presidente beer $100 pesos) and there is a nice patio out back for private parties. They have a stage and dance floor. They play American (some great jazz) and Dominican music, just ask for a song and they will be happy to play it for you. The owner, Lidia, is a great hostess and the manager, Robinson, is a very efficient bartender. They both speak English and Spanish. The decor is quite nice, very dark, relaxing, comfortable and there is a large bar.
