La Taberna Vasca Restaurant has epicurean delights for those of you who love fine food and dining at a reasonable price. We are the only true French restaurant located in the heart of the oldest city in the Americas, Colonial Zone.

Our restaurant has a friendly and quiet atmosphere great for families or for a romantic dinner. The walls are adorned with original art from the Basque region that ads to our special ambiance. The attentive staff can speak English, Spanish and French so all will feel welcome.

The food is prepared with the freshest meats and vegetables that are purchased daily from the local markets. Jeff, a real French born and trained chef, prepares the food to perfection. Nowhere in the area can you find this type of typical French cuisine.

While reading our menu why not start off with the pre-dinner French aperitif, Kir, to prepare your palate for the delights that are to come. We offer a magnificent selection of Fish and Seafood including Red Snapper, Seafood Paella, a Lobster Ravioli that is a real delicacy and a superb Vasque Fishermen Fish Soup. We have Stuffed Quail and Grilled Lamb Chops. Our Steaks are cooked to perfection including our Imported Black Angus Steak. One of the owners favorite dishes is the Grilled Squid with Serranno Ham and imported French peppers called Espelette/ Calamares plancha con Piquillos y Serrano. Which ever dish you chose you will feel as if you have left Dominican Republic and are dining in a bistro in France.

Try a one or both of our distinct tapas of either Basque/ Plato degustación de tapas vascas or the Marinated Fish selections known as Ceviches. You will love them!

When you have completed your meal be sure to finish it off with one or our scrumptious deserts. There are many tasty deserts/ postres from which to choose including the house desert of Crispy Chocolate with English Cream/ Crocante de chocolate con crema inglesa. Try the Orange Crème Brulee/ Creme brulée a la naranja, a super light custard topped with a tasty orange brulee. No matter which after dinner sweet you chose you will be very pleased.

La Taberna Vasca has a different daily lunch special that is freshly prepared each day for a very reasonable price.
