Mercado Modelo is a large mall that sells almost any souvenir or tourist item you could imagine. It is set up in sections each owned by different vendors. Many of the shops are represented many times each selling different wares but owned by the same person. There are many non-tourist things to buy here including a great market selling fresh fruit and veggies near by and an herb shop. The only bad thing about this place is that it is a tourist area and you are hounded constantly by all types of people from beggars to people selling their wares. more information in our business-gift-jewelry section here.
