Ada Aimeé de la Cruz will represent Dominican Republic in the Miss World 2007 contest to be held in Sanya China, December 1, 2007. This 5'11(some say 6') beauty from Villa Mella is 18 years old. She is will be among the 119 (not confirmed) contestants that will vie for the title.

Massiel Taveras of Santiago
Massiel Taveras from Santiago will represent Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe contest. The other winners in order: Marianne Cruz González from Salcedo. Sheila Inoa García, from the Provincia of Duarte., Janna Montás from La Altagracia. Yesenia Aybar, from Sánchez Ramírez. The Miss Universe 2007 contest was May 29 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico where she was one of about 85 delegates competing for the title. Miss República Dominicana Universo 2009
The contest was held at the Centro de Convenciones of Sans Soucí, in Zona Oriental (Santo Domingo Este), on May 17, 2009. The winner will represent Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2009.

Ada Aimée de la Cruz González representing San José de Ocoa is the new Miss República Dominicana Universo 2009. She will represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant to be held in the Hotel Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas, on August 30. This 6 foot beauty represented DR at the Miss World 2007 pageant. She was born in Villa Mella in Santo Domingo.
Ana Contreras - Monte Plata is the 1st Runner-up and will represent DR at the Reina Hispanoamericana 2009 pageant.
Rocío Castellanos - Distrito Nacional is the 2nd Runner-up and will represent DR at the Miss Continente Americano 2009
Sahoni Camarena - San Cristóbal the 3rd Runner-up will be representing DR at the Miss Globe International 2010
Ana Viñas - Santiago the 4th Runner-up will represent Dominican Republic at the Miss Bikini International 2010
Raengel Solís - Duarte the 5th Runner-up will represent República Dominicana at Miss América Latina 2010

It seems that Miss Venezula won the Miss Universe contest 2009 held in Barbados. Our own representative, Ada Aimée de la Cruz González, was 1st Runner Up and we are proud of her. She won the gown (the gown was designed by Leonel Lirio, a famous Dominican designer) competition with 9.428 points. Ada came in second in the swim suit competition with 9.189 points. The contest was held at the Teatro La Fiesta, Hotel Jaragua in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Saturday April 17. The contest can be seen on TV on Channel 7, Antena Latina starting at 9PM. The winner will represent Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2009.

The 5'10" Eva Carolina Arias Viñas (pictured on the left) won Miss Dominican Republic Universe on April 17, 2010. Congratulations to Eva and all the others who were in the competition.
Alma Alvarez from Samaná was 1st runner-up. Stephanie Liriano from Dajabón was the 2nd runner-up. Libell Durán from the Dominican Community in USA was the 3rd runner-up.

Miss Universe 2010 will be held on August 23, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The National Costume Show on August 16th is where Miss Dominican Republic, Eva Arias, showed us her outfit. Leonel Lirio designed the dress and the whip she is holding. It was inspired by a carnival group from Santiago.
