I'm Janette, the major writer and gather of information for the Colonial Zone web site. I've been living in Dominican Republic for almost 9 years. I came here in 2001 to the Santo Domingo area and then Colonial Zone.
I'm originally from Pennsylvania, close to Pittsburgh. I went to school in Mars, PA (yea, I am a martian). I lived in DR for 3 1/2 years and had to return to USA for a few years to deal with a few problems. While I was there I started this web site to keep myself from being depressed and to keep my mind occupied. I had no idea how to build a web site so it is not professional. I just wanted to share what I love about the Dominican Republic with others. What I write comes from my experience and my heart. I never thought it would ever grow and be so popular. Thank you to all who visit my web site for making it what it is today.
I am again living in the Zona Colonial for 3 years now and hope to stay here forever.
