We have a room in a families normal type apartment home here in the Colonial Zone area of Dominican Republic. It is located near to shopping, historical monuments and is only about 4 blocks from the Conde street. They will make you feel right at home and they speak a little English. You can use the living room, balcony and kitchen as you wish. The room is average size with a single bed. It is very secure. You have a closet, shelves and a dresser. There is a fan. The bathroom, shared by all living here, is next to the room.

Rent: $500 Dominican pesos which at the time of this writing is almost $14USD a day.

How about renting a room in a families home when you visit Dominican Republic? This way you can meet the real people of the country, learn the culture first hand and have a great time while doing it. Dominican people are very friendly and I'm sure in no time you would feel like you are part of a real family. Have a real adventure in a way that staying in a hotel will not give you.

Rooms - Mencias House

Furnished Apartments

If you are planning on a long term stay there are some furnished apartments in a wide range of prices. Some are small studios and others have bedrooms and are quite nice. Most require 3x1 (3 months rent for the first month). This is 1 months rent, the refundable deposit and a non-refundable fee. Some places have electricity included while others you will need to pay the electric. Check for availability. Many do not take reservations. You must be here, check out the place, meet the owners and then rent.

Rooms for rent - Colonial Zone

Large rooms with cable tv, fan, 24 hour water and electric. $11000 RDP a month with refrigerator, and $13000 RDP monthly rent with refrigerator and stove. Also short term rentals available. No deposit required.

Studio Apartments - Gazcue next to Parque Independencia a few steps from Colonial Zone

$9000 RD pesos monthly with a minimum 3 month lease (if you need it for a shorter stay prices are a bit higher). 3x1 which is the first months rent, the deposit and a non-refundable fee. Cooking gas (a small deposit is required) and electricity is not included but you do not need to get your own contract for these things, the apartment owners will give you the bill each month. The furnished studio includes cable tv, kitchenette, fan. Prices are subject to change.

Apartment 1 bedroom - Colonial Zone

Rental by the month or long term. For 1 month $690 USD or $40 USD a day (if you want air conditioning for the monthly and daily rentals this is extra). For a minimum 3 month stay $490 USD monthly with a 3x1 deposit (3 months rent for the first month). This is 1 months rent, the refundable deposit and a non-refundable fee. The apartment includes air conditioning, fan, cable tv, furnished, WiFi, kitchen with utensils, electric 24 hours. You must pay the cooking gas and electric for the long term rental. It is very secure. Prices are subject to change

Apartment 2 bedrooms - Colonial Zone

Rental by the month or long term. For 1 month $950 USD or $60 USD a day (if you want air conditioning for the monthly and daily rentals this is extra). For a minimum 3 month stay $700 USD monthly with a 3x1 deposit ((3 months rent for the first month). This is 1 months rent, the refundable deposit and a non-refundable fee. The apartment includes air conditioning, fan, cable tv, furnished, WiFi, kitchen with utensils, electric 24 hours. You must pay the cooking gas and electric for the long term rental. It is very secure. Prices are subject to change.
