Les Misérables
June 13, 2008 at the Teatro Nacional "Eduardo Brito" the classical musical production by Victor Hugo "Les Miserables"
Carolina Rivas, Cecilia García, Nuryn Sanlley, Frank Ceara, Kenny Grullón, Antonio Melenciano, Héctor Aníbal Estrella, Laura Calderón and Pedro Pablo Reyes are among the talented actors.
There are some great
videos of the production here * note Laura Calderón..she is a great friend, she has an angelic voice and is a face to watch here in Dominican Republic.

The Santo Domingo Merengue Festival July 24 to 27, 2008
The yearly street festival held on the Malecon. Not only are there big name bands but there are local performers on every corner. Lots of food and activities for the entire family. The street closes and the music and dancing begin. This is a must see event.
