The Dominican Republic has many adventure sports to offer the brave and daring. The country has many first class, well-developed facilities for those who have the urge to indulge themselves in those  adrenalin-generating sports.

We have whitewater rafting on the Río Yaque del Norte in Jarabacoa. Great  places for tubing, The most noted are on the Río Jamao del Norte, the Río Yaque del Norte and the Río Isabela  where one can float down the rapids in oversized rubber tubes.

Cascading involves climbing up to the top of a waterfall and repelling down the cool falls while tied to a rope; the best places to do this are Cascada del Limón, Cascada Ojo de Agua, El Salto de Baiguate and El Salto de Jimenoa.

Canyoning, which is the same as cascading minus the rope (meaning that practitioners climb up a river gorge and then jump into the river below), is popular at La Madajagua in Imbert and the Jarabacoa area.

Maybe you'd like to see the island gliding through the air. Try a paragliding adventure

There are many Adventure Tour Companies in Dominican Republic. Each offering something a little different.

We dare you to try some White Water Rafting or some Cascading. Maybe a Paragliding Tour to see some breathtaking scenery. How about exploring beneath the earth in a cave or from atop a hugh rock after you have climbed to the top. Be brave. Give it a try!
Caribbean Free Flying is committed to bringing you everything you need to have the best paragliding vacation in a great adventure trip to the Dominican Republic."Our logistics and local knowledge will help you get the most out of our paragliding tours. Rock Climbing/ Caving

Here is a great web site about climbing in Dominican Republic and a store to buy all your climbing and hiking needs.

La Cueva de las Maravillas (The Cave of Wonders)
Located between the rivers Soco and Cumayasa near the place known as Boca del Soco, on the road to San Pedro de Macoris-La Romana, This cave has 10 petroglyph's shaped anthropomorphic and 472 various pictograph's. This cave includes 800 meters of underground labyrinths of which  240 meters are open to tourists. Secretaría de Medio Ambiente / The Ministry of Environment is very protective of this cave so these historical relics left by the Tainos can be preserved. They do not permit pictures as the flash deteriorates these carved images.
Open from Tuedays to Sunday 9AM to 6PM. Guided tours only in a very modern facitity. Small fee to enter.

Veinte-Siete Charcos del Río Damajagua / The Twenty-Seven Waterfalls of Rio Damajagua located near the small town of Imbert in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. There are twenty-seven cool water pools etched out of limestone, one below the other. It is a sight to behold. You can visit these beautiful falls on your own but you will still need to pay for a guide as none can enter the park without a guide in order to preserve the local flora and fauna. These guides take care of your safety and are knowledgeable of the area, where to go and all the safety precautions. They also supply you with lifejackets and helmets. Make sure to weat good climbing-water type shoes so your feet enjoy the trek as well. You can hire an organized tour outside of the park as well through many of the local tour operators.   The locals call it "La Cascada." and will be happy to show you the way if you decide not to take an organized tour.
